I would like to use Inkdrop at work, but I would need to sync to a custom server, and I don’t want to use this same server for my personal notes. Is it possible to quickly switch between different sync endpoints, while keeping notes for each endpoint separated?
Hi spencewenski,
Thank you for the suggestion.
I understand you would like to separate your personal notes from your working notes.
Basically Inkdrop is designed to have one database per one account.
But if you could set up your own CouchDB server, it is possible.
To do that, you have to set up two CouchDB databases for private and business, and configure them on each client:
That almost works. However, I would also like to be able to have access to my personal notes on my work computer, so it would be great if I could easily switch between the two ‘profiles’. I’m guessing this could be done with two completely separate accounts, but I’d prefer to not need to pay for two separate accounts for myself, and it would be a little annoying to sign out and sign back in each time I want to switch.
Yeah right.
But to be honest, I don’t feel like adding such complex feature which only a few people will use.
It will take time to support. And I will not use it. Then that will cause bugs.
Instead, I would like to focus on improving the core features.
Thanks!
