Regional Price After Increase

Considering the recent price change from $5 to $10, has regional pricing become something worth reconsidering?

I understand that regional pricing can add complexity, especially for a small independently developed product. However, for users in countries with weaker currencies, such as Brazil, the impact of this increase is much greater than it may seem.

Many apps and services already offer regional pricing, and I believe users here are generally more comfortable subscribing when prices better reflect local purchasing power.

Google Play could potentially help with this, since it already supports regional pricing.

Just sharing the perspective of a user from Brazil who enjoys Inkdrop.

Ty for the attention!

Hi Rogério,

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m happy that people from various countries find my app useful. However, I have to focus on making the project sustainable. It’s been successfully running for 10 years, and that’s because I’ve been solely focusing on the tiny niche market and making it better rather than bigger. My time and energy are limited. Supporting regional pricing takes time and effort. So, I’m afraid to say no. Since Inkdrop is a multi-platform app, I can’t rely on a specific platform like Google Play Store.

I briefly checked out the Stripe’s documentation again and found that it supports Adaptive Pricing:

It now looks easier than when I checked out before, and I’ll revisit it after officially launching v6. Thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to look into it.

I hope everything goes smoothly with the v6 launch, and I’ll be looking forward to any updates on this in the future.
