Notebooks in the sidebar are sorted alphabetically. As a user It would be nice to rearrange the order in which they are displayed.
Not sure this can be done via plugin. Probably requires changing of the data model as well.

It’d be nice to have but I’m afraid to say no.
If you want this feature, I guess you may have too many notebooks.
You can nest notebooks as children and they can be collapsed.
Adding a lot of features doesn’t always solve the actual problem.
I don’t feel like adding complex features.
Please keep your notebooks clean and simple.

I solved this for myself by prepending “01,” “02,” etc., to the beginning of the notebook name:
Example:
01 Name of notebook I want to display first
02 Name of notebook I want to display second
…
