Problem with Embed and Link Card plugins

  • Platform: macOS
  • Platform version: Sonoma 14.5
  • App Version: 5.8.1

How to reproduce

After updating the application to version 5.8, the embed plugin stopped working. The link preview is not displayed.

The same problem is with the Link Card plugin (but it’s a community plugin), so it’s not so important to mention it here. But it seems the problem is interconnected.

Now if the links are marked as embed or card then displayed as an “embed” or “card” link without a preview image

Hey Ilya,

Thanks for reporting.
The embed plugin is the official plugin, so I’ll look into it.
I think the cause of the issue is the same for the link card plugin.
I’ll let the plugin author know how to solve it after fixing the bug.

Hi. Regarding my link-card plugin, @picklecillo has fixed the bug.
I think the following part might be causing a similar bug in the embed plugin as well.

For me, Inkdrop app restart is necessary.

I can’t reproduce it.
Can you try reinstalling them one by one then restart the app?
If the issue persists, please report if you get an error in the developer console.
