Notes/Notebooks are not synching between devices

Bug report

I signed up as a trial user to kick the tires. I installed Inkdrop on two MacBook Pros. The notebooks/notes are not being synched between the two devices as expected. I don’t think a reinstall should be warranted since these are fresh installs.

Info

  • Platform: macOS
  • Platform version: 11.3.1 Big Sur (both device)
  • App Version: 5.3.0 (both devices)

Reproduce

  1. Create a trial account
  2. Ensure you are using the Inkdrop sync server in your “Sync” settings
  3. Install Inkdrop on two MacOS devices (Big Sur)
  4. Create a notebook with a note on each device

Attempted Remedies (these actions don’t solve the problem)

  1. Forcing a sync using lower right corner drop down option “Synchronize notes”
  2. Logging out and back in again on both devices (using lower right corner drop down)
  3. Restarting the app on each device
  4. Through the “Developer” menu choose “Reload” on each device

Hi Darren,

Thank you for the report.
The server was down 5 hours ago, but it should be working fine now.
This incident was due to a particular user sending too large requests.
I contact him/her for further investigation.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

I actually have had the same issue a few times in the last week. I input notes on once device and then later go to another device and click the sync button in lower left corner and it doesn’t do anything. I have to log out and back in again for it to do its automatic sync. Thats the only way to keep all devices up-to-date.

Hi @Mark_Johnson,

Have you tried Synchronize Notes from Scratch?
