Hi Takuya,

I started a new job a few months ago where I unfortunately only have access to 1080p Monitors. As space is really constrained there I thought about ways to save some space :smiley:

In the picture I’ve highlighted the padding above and below the title which I think could be reduced, as well as the complete removal of the first few words of a note. Personally I never look at that and only check the title.

The goal is to be able to view more notes.

So my suggestion would be compact mode checkbox in the settings that:

  • removes padding
  • removes the beginning note content
  • optional: puts the time/date in the same line as the title, when the title is short. Maybe bad idea as datetime would be on the right in that case which is incosistent with the normal placement
  • optional: maximum show one line of tags instead of all of them

Congrats on your new job!
I understand some people prefer the compact view for the note list.
The simple-note-list plugin is exactly what you want:

It works fine on both v5 and v6. Can you try it?

thank you. Looks wise the plugin does what I want, but at least in my case, right-clicking the notes does nothing on my machine

You mean, context menu for the note list items not working? Are you on v5?

yes, the context menu does not open. I am on Version 5.11.8 and tried on macOS 26.3.1 so far.

No errors in the console

weird, it works fine on my mac. would you try relaunching the app?

I’ve done so quite a few times already and also tried re-enabling/re-installing the plugin with no success. I’ll try on my linux desktop

Edit: Works on my linux pc. Let me try some settings and whether I can figure out why it doesn’t work on my mac

Can you try reinstalling the plugin? I found that the server unexpectedly listed the old versions of the packages for v5. I fixed the server, and I confirmed the app installs simple-note-list@v0.5.1 properly.
