Launch Inkdrop via terminal with path to markdown file as arg

Question

Hello, I was wondering if Inkdrop has support for being launched via terminal (such as iTerm, or VSCode integrated terminal) with a simple command like:

inkdrop /path/to/mdfile.md

I use the terminal a lot with VSCode and it’s sometimes becomes a pain to switch between applications in MacOS, it would be really nice if I could simply launch Inkdrop via the terminal with the MD file I wish to edit. Does this functionality exist ? And if not is there an easy way to achieve this ?

Sincerely,

Slav

Environment

  • Platform: MacOS
  • Platform version: Ventura 13.0.1 (22A400)
  • App Version: 5.5.2

Hi Vyacheslav,

Thanks for the question.
I’m afraid that Inkdrop is not designed for editing individual local MD files as it focuses on organizing notes and cross-platform sync.
I understand it’d be nice to support editing local files, but it’s not the primary focus of the app.
