Inkdrop Would Like to Use Bluetooth

Bug report

This is more of a question than a bug report. Additionally, this may not be an Inkdrop issue but I’m just being cautious by asking here.

I was using Inkdrop and received this system message that I hadn’t seen before and just wanted to make sure it was not an issue.

Thanks so much!

Environment

  • Platform: macOS
  • Platform version: Sonoma 14.4.1
  • App Version: 5.8.0

How to reproduce

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the question.
Inkdrop never requires Bluetooth, so it is very strange and I have never seen it.
Have you installed community plugins? Could you tell me which ones?

I’ve tried to run navigator.bluetooth.requestDevice({ filters: [{ services: ['battery_service'] }] }) from the Developer Tools and, interestingly, it pops up a dialog but it tells that “iTerm.app” wants to use Bluetooth:

I don’t understand that but I’m sure that the app doesn’t use Web Bluetooth API. I’ve grep-ed all my codebase and dependencies.

Hi Takuya,

Thanks so much for looking into this for me, I really appreciate it.

I am running two community plugins and they are both up-to-date. Please see screenshot.

I haven’t seen this issue again since it first happened so I think we’re good. I’ll definitely let you know if it pops up again.

All the best,
Paul

Thanks for the information.
I’ve looked into these two plugins and they looked safe.
Please let me know if it happens again.
