Inkdrop:// URLs not working from Safari or Chrome

Hi! I just discovered that you can right-click a note and get a link to it! That’s awesome!

On macOS Catalina (10.15.7), the links work from Firefox, but not from Safari or Chrome. In Safari, I get Safari can't open "inkdrop://note:XXXXXXX" because macOS doesn't recognise internet addresses starting with "inkdrop:".

Do you know if there is a way to make them work from Safari and/or Chrome?

Both Safari and Chrome works with zotero://.... URLs, and if I remember right, I didn’t have to do anything special for that to work.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for reporting it.
It was working fine but it looks like it stopped working since the recent update.
I found that macOS starts recognizing its URI scheme as inkdrop://note: instead of inkdrop: because it contains ‘:’ in the URI. That’s why it’s not working.
We need to change the URI format for notes something like inkdrop://note-XXXX.

In v5.2.0, now it generates URLs with a format like inkdrop://note/*** in order to avoid the issue on Big Sur.
Thanks for reporting this!
