Find Mode is locking my app some how

Bug report

When i do Command F on mac to find, it works for a bit but not sure how it happens but its happened three times now. Somehow i get it to a point where when i accidently do find again when its already up or maybe some other way, again not sure how, it locks the app. I can still scroll the file and all but I can’t click any buttons whatsoever. Only way to get the app functional is to close the app and reopen it

Environment

  • Platform: Mac
  • Platform version: macOS 15
  • App Version: 6.1.4

How to reproduce

Dont know how as i dont know what im doing to do it.

Hi @Mark_Johnson
Thanks for the report. I got it to reproduce!

Actual Behavior

  • After using Find (Cmd+F) in preview mode for a while, no button in the app responds to clicks.
  • The preview can still be scrolled.
  • Only restarting the app fixes it.
  • Reported on macOS 15, Inkdrop 6.1.4 (affects every version since v6.0.0).

Expected Behavior

  • Find in preview never blocks the rest of the UI.
  • If a search fails or is cancelled, everything goes back to normal.

Steps to Reproduce

Path A (always happens):

  1. Open a note in Preview or Side-by-side mode.
  2. Press Cmd+F to show the preview find bar.
  3. Leave the field empty (or type text and delete it).
  4. Click Find or press Enter.
  5. Every part of the app except the preview stops responding to clicks.

Path B (timing-dependent):

  1. Type a keyword and press Enter.
  2. Press Esc before Chromium returns the result.

I will fix it in the next release!
