I have been using Inkdrop with great enthusiasm for over a year now and have a feature request today. I occasionally share my notes, which sometimes contain sensitive data such as access data, on a large screen during IT meetings. It would be helpful to be able to mark these areas and display them with a lock. To view these areas, you then have to click on the lock and enter a password and only then will these areas become visible. I am sure that this feature is used by several admins.
Here are two screenshots of how this is possible in Evernote:
It sounds nice to have, but the feature seems to require extending the Markdown syntax. Inkdrop focuses on preserving compatibility with standard Markdown (GFM) so that your notes can be portable. I understand you want to hide some sensitive parts when sharing with other people, but it would be impossible to support while preserving compatibility.
However, it also sounds similar to protect an entire note with a password, as requested in this topic:
It looks more straightforward since it doesn’t require extending Markdown.
I’d like to have some input from other people since I don’t personally have such a need at the moment. Feel free to let me know your workflow, like when to share with whom for what, securely.
