Can't open links in edit mode

Bug report

When writing a note, I often insert links to external content. However, the only way for me to open the link in my browser is to manually select it and do a copy/paste in my web browser.

When I double click on the link, it opens my web browser with the letter I clicked on as URL.
Same behavior when I do a right click > Open Link.

The workaround is to go into preview mode and click on the link, which is not ideal.

Environment

  • Platform: Windows
  • Platform version: 11 Pro Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621
  • App Version: 5.5.3

How to reproduce

  1. Create a new note.
  2. Paste an HTTP URL inside (example: Ice Shards Sorcerer Build for Diablo 4 - Icy Veins).
  3. Try to open the link.

Hi Joff,

Thanks for the report.
I guess you are using spell-checker plugin, which breaks tokens into words in the editor, causing the URLs to be unable to open from the editor.
It is not possible to fix on CodeMirror 5 by design, unfortunately.
I’m planning to migrate it to v6 in the future.
It will involve many breaking changes, so it will take time.

Hi Takuya,

Thank you for your fast reply.
I am indeed using the spell checker plugin.

After disabling it and restarting Inkdrop, the links are now working again.

Have a great day,
Joff
