After searching: how to get rid of the search text highlighting?

This is a question that could potentially turn into a feature request.

Question

I find it easiest to locate a specific note by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+F and typing a word from the note’s title or text in the search bar. In the resulting list of notes, I navigate to the one I am looking for with the UP/DOWN keys and press ENTER to edit the selected note.

All that works great. What I am asking is this:

The keyword I searched for is highlighted in the text. How can I get rid of the highlighting?

Solutions I found

Apparently pressing CTRL+F to search the current note followed by ESC removes the highlighting. I was wondering if that is the “official” way or if there is something easier.

Hi Hiro,

Thank you for the question.

Yes.
The app automatically searches words in the editor because it assumes that you want to find where the word appears in the note.
So you have to cancel it with ESC.
